Quarry Manager 

Purpose of Position
• To oversee and provide stringent site supervision and support to the Southern Quarry Operations in Tasmania, to ensure the site is running at maximum production, safety and compliance is paramount, effective cost management is achieved as well as achieving employee motivation and wellbeing
• Act as the Senior Site Officer for the company and other Southern Quarries, as delegated
• To provide technical and operational support to other Quarrying operations, as required
• Contribute to, lead and help drive a culture of strong HSEQ and operational compliance and responsibility
Position Requirements Qualifications (minimum)
• Current Drivers Licence
• Tertiary Qualified and/or Business Management Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications
• Certificate IV Work Health and Safety
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Extractive Industries

Relevant Experience
• Demonstrated experience in the supervision of a quarrying/mining/production or heavy industry operation
• Practical application ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

Key Skills
• Leadership and team building skills with excellent relationship management abilities and ability to engage workforce
• Ability to decide priorities and timelines and effectively manage own time
• Sound influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills including the ability to advocate change and win over resistance
• Continuous improvement strategies
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong HSEQ focus and uncompromising commitment to safety and compliance
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Flexibility with work hours including Saturdays, as required

Essential Knowledge
• Sound knowledge of plant and equipment typically associated with heavy industry or quarrying environments
• Job Safety Analysis, hazard awareness, risk identification and control techniques
• Understanding of regulatory governance and legislative requirements
• Practical knowledge of HSEQ legislation, regulation, standards, codes of practice and compliance and reporting requirements.
• Auditing compliance and reporting procedures and processes
• Practical knowledge in the development and updating of Work instruction and SWMS completion to a fit for purpose state
