Our Clients Car Service located Bentleigh have an opportunity for a full time modern motor mechanic/auto electrician technician to join our family owned business. We need someone who is reliable, self-motivated and efficient with good work ethics to expand our team from three mechanics to four. We are offering a 38 hour week over four days (7.30am - 5.30pm or 8am to 6pm), or a nine day fortnight or regular five day week - whatever suits your lifestyle to the right person Our current technicians have all chosen their preferred working arrangements such as seven hour day or four day week. We have a variety of diagnostics oscilloscopes, smoke machines, A/C machines etc Current scan tools include Bosch KTS, G-scan, Snap on, Auto Logic, Ross Tech VDAS. We can offer management, technical training for the right applicant after a qualifying period Hand tools can be provided if required There is free all day parking close by. The position involves: - Diagnosing faults and testing parts with the specialist equipment
- Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
- Auto electrical diagnostic's
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
- Repair and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, timing belts, coolant oil leaks, referring to service manuals as needed ( provided )
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components,
- Reassembling engines and parts checking and road testing following repair
- Manage stock reordering and inventory as directed
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a professional and polite manner when communicating with customers
- Full adherence to regulations, relating to pollution and health and safety at all times.
In order to succeed in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate: - you can work unsupervised
- strong research and diagnosis skills across various makes and models including European vehicles
- 5+ years experience
- servicing and repair of multiple brands would help but not essential if specialist in 1 or more brands
- general interest in motor vehicles and vehicle technology
- ability to prioritize workloads according to urgency and priority
Skills and qualifications required for the role are: - Victorian drivers license
- Qualified motor mechanic or auto electrician
- Excellent English reading and writing skills and computer literate
- A professional and reliable attitude
- A keen eye for detail and pride in your work
- Can work as part of a team
You will be rewarded for your dedication, customer service skills and effort to grow. A generous starting salary depending on experience. $75,000 – $85,000 per year |
